WATERCOLOR 1,Beginning Watercolor (Pedersen, Fall 2008) Filled

ADVANCED WATERCOLOR TECHNIQUES, "LOOSE & IMPRESSIONISTIC" (Pedersen, Fall 2008)
This structured class is for the advanced and intermediate watercolor painter Jim will demonstrate the techniques and design considerations which encourage an impressionistic and loose appearance in a watercolor painting. The five units cover: 1. Lost and Found shapes and chiaroscuro, 2, Negative shape painting 3. Linking darks and light shapes 4. Shadows, the artists' best friend 5,. Beyond wet-into-wet. If your paintings are bogged down in muddy static shapes, this is the class for you .Bring your usual watercolor kit and be prepared to work 15x22.”  Call Jim at 303-449-6324 for more info.

WINTER WATERCOLOR TOPICS (Pedersen, Winter 2009)
This structured class is for the intermediate and advanced watercolor painter.  Sharpen your watercolor skills on landscape topics appropriate to this fall season.  Through a series of "follow-along" demonstrations, Jim will share his techniques and encourage your own creative approach to the painting process.  Topics this session include:  1.  Several sessions on Snow, shadows, winter forests, and mountains.  2.  Farms and barns.  3.  Skies and Clouds.   Come prepared to paint.  Jim recommends bringing  two 15x22” sheets of cold pressed or rough 140 pound watercolor paper to the first session.  Bring your usual watercolor kit and be prepared to work 15x22.”  Call Jim at 303-449-6324 or email: pedersen@pedersenart.com for more info.

Spring 2009

ON LOCATION WITH JIM PEDERSEN AND ROGER MORDHORST (Spring 2008)
Join us for our 12th annual plein air workshop. Both Roger and Jim will demonstrate a half-sheet watercolor daily and conduct an afternoon critique of participant paintings. Our venues include creeks, canyons, farms and more.

FRANCE IN THE SPRING May 29th--June 17th, 2009
Join Jim for one week in Paris and another  in either the Loire or Dordogne River valleys.  Jim will present a 5 day watercolor and sketching workshop featuring demonstrations daily and plenty of one-on-one help.  There will be plenty of time for exploration, sketching and museums.  Dedra Smith and Molly Hargarten, successful Venice Trip organizers,  are working out the details as I write.    Dedra is looking for apartments in Paris and a villa for the 2nd week.   Contact Molly Hargarten at 303-494-5314 or Dedra Smith at 303-447-1381 for information and reservations.
